The plan

So, for all of you who wondered what the first post said on this site, I will tell you the short version of the plan.

Me and my friend and climbing buddy Filip are going to Nepal on the 16th of september to climb two peaks in the Khumbu region. The first one, and also the hardest of the two, is Lobuche East. At just over 6100 meters it will offer superb climbing and amazing views, if all goes according to the plan. The altitude and the fact that we have never been even close to this height before, will truly make this a struggle. But a struggle well wort the effort.

The second peak, Imja Tse, also known as Island Peak offers hights of just under 6200 meters and is very close to Mt Everest. This highest peak on the planet makes Imja Tse look like a relatively small mountain, but in fact it can offer us some hard work on our choosen route, the North East Ridge. This ridge is not climbed very often, and since we will attempt to climb it in the early season we are counting on a fair bit of snow as we get closer to the summit.

So, keep an eye out for news of our progress here on the himalayan high blogg!

Ciao, Johan.
