After giving half our load to a sherpa in Pangboche we made our way up to Dingboche yesterday. The walk with such a light load was a pleasure compared to before and it was a nice day exept for the rain and fog that followed us along.
I have had a few exiting days up to now. It started with a cold, then turned into the runs, then got back to a cold and Filip ended up taking my pack for an extra 400 meters up a really unforgiving hill.
Now Ive been through a good dose of penicillin and I'm felling like new again. The weather is awesome and we are surrounded by beautiful mountains and can see the route up Island Peak that we intend to climb, it looks nice.
We will continue up to Lobuche in a few days and then dump our gear there to go to Everest Base Camp with only daypacks. Then back down and pick up the stuff and head into Lobuche Base Camp.
one more thing, at 4400 meters this is by far the speediest connection on the whole trip, pretty amazing! thank you sattelites!!!
Later!
johan.

Hoghojdssurfning i Dingboche
Ciao!

Leaving Namche!
After three full days in Namche Bazar it's finally time to move on. I had a little cold since I left home, and I had to rest a few days to heal.
The march into Namche Was exiting! We started out in Lukla with 35 kilos on our backs and the going has been a little slow, but the weight isn't that much of a pain yet. The 1000 meter haul up the last hill to Namche was 4 hours of sweat and joy! almost at least :)
We made it into Namche just before dark and got a sweet deal on a room with a view!
Since we dont know if it will be possible to post more in the next few days or even weeks, we just wanted to let you know that it looks like the weather will be perfect by the time we get into the mountains, and the temperature will drop and give us better snow to climb on.
Time to go, but we hope to get back again before we head towards Lobuche!
ciao

Namche

Tills dess,
Ha det kalas, det har vi ;)

- Have you eaten your dal bhaat?
...that's the litteral translation of the Nepali meaning : how are you?
Dal bhaat is sort of the national course here in Nepal and consists basically of rice and lentils. Unfortunaly nothing we have tried yet. Here in Kathmandu it's crowded, a lot of peolple, smells and the number of small shops is just owerwhelming. Everywhere you go you'll meet people wanting to talk to you and try to sell "their" stuff. The traffic is another thing: chaotic. But at the same time it's amazing how calm and friendly everyone is despite the chaos.
Today we have just been cruising around and done some final preparations for the mountains. One thing that is for sure is that there will be some more shopping when we get back from the mountains by the end of october\beginning of november.
Tomorrow there will be some sightseeing in Kathmandu and relaxing before we head up to Lukla and the mountain early on the 20th september.
Take care,
Filip

There!
Nepal!
after a great warm welcome at the airport by Sagar and Kili from highaltitudedreams, we got a ride through the back streets of the city and finally got our room at the hotel they got us. Tired and with great expectations we went to bed and slept like logs!
That was yesterday. Today everything is settled with Kili and Sagar and tomorrow we do the last preperations before the mountains. We also decided to start out the hiking with no Sherpa, that means we're gonna be going sloooow, but we have enough time for it and we will get to see more of the area this way.
Thanks all for writing to us and 150 visits in three days is awesome!
Kram till Mamma, Pappa, Syrran, Mormor och Farmor!

Almost There
Free Internet!!! Yippie!
Only one more little flight before we arrive in kathmandu. We made it to Heathrow ok, but almost got in trouble because they didnt know the visa regulations for Nepal. But after a few smiles and please's we got onboard the flight to our current position, Abu Dabi. This is a wonderful place, where the prayer room is right next to the toilets, and the pace is a little different from what we're used to.
Boarding the plane in two hours, then Nepal!

Time to go
Ok, if all goes according to plan, we will be flying our way towards Nepal by this time tomorrow. Bags are packed, weight is sacked and I'm thinking of getting loaded myself to be able to sleep before leaving for the airport :)We want to thank you all for the huge number of visits to this Blog, almost 500 in just a week!!! Keep that up and please write to us from time to time. Internet access will be a little sparse, but we will try to keep you updated on our progress and post photos and perhaps even a little video.
We hope to fly out to Lukla, the start of the hike, on the 20th this month, and from there it will take us between 7-14 days to reach the mountains, depending on how well we handle the altitude and all the bacteria that surely will upset our bodies a little...
So, time to get ready and pack up the computer. We hope to hear from you all!
See you in 7 weeks!
